Prof. Dr. Achim Benditz is a specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery with a clinical and scientific focus on coccygodynia (tailbone pain) and degenerative spinal conditions. He is Head of Orthopaedics and Spine Therapy at Klinikum Fichtelgebirge and Professor at the University of Regensburg.
His research and clinical expertise concentrate on the diagnosis and treatment of coccygodynia, combining innovative surgical techniques with conservative therapy. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and the author of over 80 peer-reviewed publications, many of which explore spinal pain syndromes and their management.
Prof. Benditz is Managing Director (from 2025) of IGOST – the Interdisciplinary Society for Orthopaedic, Trauma and General Pain Therapy, and Secretary General of the German-Latin American Spine Society (DLGOU). He holds advanced certifications in manual medicine, spinal intervention techniques, and clinical osteopathy.
